Spanish Oral - Done!

This is my first attempt at a post via email, don't know why I need to bother, because chances are if I can access my email I can access the blogger website, but I thought I'd give it a go! It will probably turn out all rubbish and I won't like it so I really don't know why I am bothering.

I had my Spanish oral today and it went OK. I wasn't too nervous about it because I knew it was only going to last about five minutes, and it's hard to get scared about something that is only going to last that long! I recited the passage that I had memorised and then she asked me a few questions, I didn't answer them particularly well because I have an awful range of vocabulary in Spanish, but she said it was fine and that my pronounciation was good, so I am glad about that.

Other than that, all I have been doing today is revising for my History exam. I didn't get as much done as I hoped, but it's still a week away so there's plenty of time (I hope). I also watched an episode of Dirty Sexy Money, which I am loving more and more as the series goes on. I have to confess that the major lure is Donald Sutherland. I know he is totally an old man, and he's really old (72) but I love him. I thought I wasn't going to like him in this, because I thought he was going to be mean, but he seems nice. There's still room for him to be a baddie, it's not quite clear yet, but I like him all the same.

And just as I was about to go to bed, Air Force One has started! BBC One must be having a bit of a Harrison Ford season, cos Indiana Jones was on Sunday night (which I watched for the first time and thought was OK). I love Air Force One. I think it was the first American President film that I watched, so it was the start of my obsession with American politics. Ooh, and I've only just realised that Jim Brass from CSI is in it. I didn't know that, but the last time I watched it was long before I even knew CSI existed.

By the way, American Studies in Spanish is Estudios de los Estados Unidos. What a mouthful. And I had to say 'I study American Studies', which is Estudio estudios de los Estados Unidos. An even bigger mouthful. I'm quite proud of myself for being able to say it though.

Essays are over!

The good news today is that all of my essays for the year are submitted! I handed the last of them in yesterday, and it feels sooooo good. The last one I wrote, my Enlightenment one on Frankenstein, was dreadful, I am fairly sure that to pass it would expecting too much, but it's done, and I'm sure I will get some points just for trying. Now I have to revise loads and try to pass the exam. I can't wait until the day of that exam, because then my life will be Enlightenment-free forever. Unless I fail the year and have to repeat, a scenario I do not want to contemplate.

So I have been playing around with the layout of my blog, to try and make it more reader friendly. I don't know why I bother, cos I don't know that anyone reads it, but I want to keep it going, so when I go to America next year I can update this to let everyone know what I am doing! If anyone cares then either! I;m going to try and add a photo into this blog, just to see how well it works. I don't have photoshop so I am trying to download a program that will let me adjust the size of the photos I want to include, otherwise they will just be too big and huge!

The sun is shining today, so I am going to go to the shops. Strictly speaking I should start revising, but I am giving myself a break because of the hard work I have been putting into my essays over the last week. I will start in earnest tomorrow. I have to start tomorrow, because I have my Spanish oral test on Tuesday and I haven't started preparing for it yet! Oops.

So here goes for the photo:

Three photos actually, of the three of us wearing my Primark sunnies.
